Biofib’ouate is an insulation composed of natural hemp and recycled cellulose fibres, all specially suited to thermal and acoustic insulation of residential and commercial buildings. It is packaged in the form of semi-rigid batts of 45, 60, 100 and 140 mm. Biofib’ ouate is mainly used for thermal and acoustic insulation of solid walls, roof structures and floors, whether newly built or under renovation.
 
  • Very strong hemp fibres that provide rigidity and proper mechanical resistance.
  • The two fibre structures complement each other for better acoustic efficiency.
  • Cellulose wadding: a recycled raw material, derived from the re-use of unsold or recycled newspapers.
  • Quality control of the raw material (not glossy paper)

Introduction

High acoustic efficiency

The combination of high-density cellulose wadding with hemp fibres provides Biofib’ ouate with excellent sound insulation properties to give enhanced acoustic comfort. The measured and certified noise-reduction levels (FCBA tests) on standard walls are clearly superior to regulatory requirements.
